HS2 waiting on Shapps approval to award maligned £2.75bn rolling stock contract

HS2 Ltd is waiting on transport secretary Grant Shapps to approve its preferred bidder to supply trains for the High Speed 2 (HS2) network. It has emerged that HS2 Ltd’s board sent its decision to Shapps for approval months ago, according to September board minutes that have just been made public.
