Talks to avert the first national rail strike for 16 years are expected to resume today and are expected to run into tomorrow, as rail bosses try to reach a deal with the unions before next week™s planned walkout. Network Rail said yesterday that only one in five trains would operate if signallers and maintenance workers strike as planned for four days from April 6.
