Businesses need a new high speed rail network, the head of Britains business organisations has told MPs. David Frost, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, warned the Government not to give in to opponents attempting to block plans for a £17 billion service linking Birmingham with London, Leeds and Manchester.

The number of passengers getting around the UK capital using the public travel network is growing.
