Brittany Ferries executives say the company could fold if the firm’s pleas to delay the date a new anti-pollution fuel regulation comes into force are ignored.

A leading High Speed rail campaigning group has called for a greater national network of High Speed lines to be considered by the Department for Transport, after the Government confirmed its intention to go ahead with HS2 in the Queen's Speech. Jim Steer of Greengauge21 claimed there was a need for a 'genuinely national plan', which would add new routes – including some travelling broadly east-west – to the currently planned lines from London to Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.

  • China Northern enters the EU wagon market CNR JINAN: The first production vehicles from a batch of 40 Type Zags LPG and ammonia tank wagons being built for French leasing company Atir-Rail was rolled out by CNR Jinan on April 28. CNR Jinan said the delivery of wagons to an EU customer was of 'epoch-making significance' for China's railway equipment industry.
