Cancel flights now to avoid holiday chaos, airlines urged [subscription]

The Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority have told airlines to cancel flights now rather than at the last minute to prevent a summer of chaos.

Former military railway to be converted to active travel route in South Wales

A former military railway in south Wales will be converted into a walking and cycling path. The Caldicot Links scheme follows a route between Portskewett and Crick and is being developed by Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) and walking and cycling charity Sustrans, with Quad Consult appointed as the consulting civil and structural engineers. It will connect the two towns, going via Caldicot Castle and the Country Park and linking to existing routes.
