Sir Peter Hendy, the commissioner of Transport for London (TfL), has launched a frank and scathing attack on the capital’s suburban rail services in an interview with Management Today. Mr Hendy claimed that Southeastern trains (which are not controlled by TfL) are “awful”, and likened their ticket inspectors to the Gestapo, before claiming that there was a “big philosophical difference” between the two organisations.
